Working with Clients
Control Centre is the hub of Sage Taxation, and handles the administration and maintenance of your client database.
A client in Control Centre represents either one of your practice's real-life clients or a person associated with one of your client's, such as their spouse, partners in a partnership etc.
You don't have to set up all clients for a tax system. For example, if you are completing a tax return for one partner in a business but not for any of the others, you only need to set up your own client for Business Tax and only set up the other partners in Control Centre. You can set up as many clients as you like in Control Centre. Only clients set up for tax modules count towards your agreed client limits.
- Setting Client Limits - Set your client limits for Control Centre, as instructed by Sage Software Support, and check how many free clients you have left. Limits are set up for different systems. You can always have unlimited clients in Control Centre, but you can only produce Tax Returns in the appropriate system for the number of clients specified by your client limit agreement with Sage (UK) Ltd.
- Create a New Client - Use the Add New Partnership and Add New Sole Trader wizards to create new clients.
- Grouping Clients Together - Store each client within a particular dataset, which is essentially a group of clients that you determine.
- Selecting a Client - Use the Client List to select the client and tax year that you want to work on.
- Editing Main Details - Use the client's Main Details form to alter and add to their partnership details.
- Deleting a Client - Delete any Control Centre client and their data.
